Welcome to year 2, we are so excited to support your children with their learning during their last year in Key Stage 1. 

PE:
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday, please send your children to school wearing PE kit and appropriate footwear. 

Home Learning:
Reading
We love to read at Storrington Primary School and share a wide range of exciting and engaging texts. 

We know that you also love to read lots of different books at home and talk about the characters, setting and what has happened. Please try to read every day, both the books the children bring home and those you have at home. By writing in your child's reading journal, we can see what they have read and ask them about their reading.

Spellings
Throughout the year, we will be teaching the children the spelling rules for Year 2. Each week they will bring home 6 spellings and an explanation of the rules that apply to the focus of the week. Please take the time to talk about these rules and learn the spellings. Try to write the words in lots of different ways, such as pyramid spellings, painting them, putting them into stories and sentences and in any creative way you can think of.

Maths
To support their power maths, we will set the children games to play in school and at home. This is a great way for them to show off their learning and gain fluency skills.
